Attractions

On the outskirts of the “capital” of the Knyazhpogost district, the city of Yemva, there is the Vorvozh estate, where guests, along with the mistress, are met by horses, chickens, goats, St. Bernards and dachshunds.

The estate has a variety of programs for tourists.

"The city is connected to the railway and is located on the banks of the purest Vym river, which is famous for fishing.

The village of Turya is one of the oldest Komi settlements. According to reference books, it is about 600 years old. There is a granite obelisk to the most famous native of the village - Pitirim Sorokin, the founder of sociology (Syktyvkar University bears his name)."

Another attraction of the distict is the Seregovo balneological health resort. Perhaps it is not so comfortable to stay in the old buildings, but the treatment here is based on the unique natural salts mined in Seregovo. Nearby, the construction of new resort buildings is almost completed, but they have not yet been put into operation.

Not far from the resort is the northernmost female Orthodox monastery. In the Kyltovsky Cross Exaltation Monastery a particle of the Life-Giving Cross of the Lord is kept. Pilgrims are always welcome in the monastery and they will tell the dramatic story of its emergence, destruction and revival.
