History

On the streets of villages of the Izhma region, it is easy to meet sleighs or carts pulled by horses. This is the most "horse-loving" district of the region: there are several of them in yards. In winter, the main transport of the Izhma residents is snowmobiles, and in the yards of reindeer breeders there are sleds next to the cars.

In the spring, the area can surprise guests with the Hunter's Holiday in the Lasta village of Lasta, and in the summer with unique natural attractions - round stones on the banks of the Pechora in the Maloe Galovo village. But the main thing is the Izhma character, which its enterprising and patriotic residents possess. Izhemets Sergei Sotnikov became famous throughout the world for saving the crew and passengers of an aircraft that made an emergency landing on an abandoned runway, which he stubbornly looked after. In Izhma, a visit to the local history museum is a must. You can get to Izhma by car or by a difficult route: by train to Irayol station and by bus to the regional center.

Attractions

MCI "Izhma Regional Museum of History and Local Lore".

The museum was founded in 1992. The museum presents a rich ethnographic collection, household items of the Komi-Izhma people, archaeological finds. In 1951, a treasure of iron objects was found near the village of Maloe Galovo: 26 axes, 7 arrowheads and other inventory -the part of the treasure is exhibited in the museum. The museum contains mammoth bones found at different times near the village of Moshyug and on the banks of the Sobys River, a tributary of the Izhma.

Gulfadsky stones

Another attraction of the Izhma region is the Gulfadsky stones. This attraction is located near the village of Maloe Galovo. Here, on the banks of the Izhma River, there are several dozen large stones of correct spherical shape. Most of the stones are cracked, and some are even completely broken. But there are also whole ones. The smallest of them are about a meter in diameter, and the largest reached three to four meters. Some are on the shore; others have rolled into the water.

A few years ago, “galfedsa izyas” (this is how the Izhma people call the Malagalovsky stones) were recognized as one of the wonders of the regional scale. At the moment, a tourist route to the unusual Malagalovsky stones is being developed.

Konstantinovskaya Recreation center

Located on the banks of the Izhma River, on the outskirts of the village of Konstantinovka, 7 km from the village of Izhma. This place is open both for family and friends recreation, as well as for organizing corporate parties and holidays. Near the forest, there are berry and mushroom clearings. You can fish in the river near the center. Fishing is carried out from the shore and from the boat.

On the territory of the center you can spend a family weekend with children, organize a celebration of a wedding, anniversary, children's birthday, New Year. It is possible to rent the entire center for one group of guests.

Travel: by private car along the Ukhta-Pechora-Usinsk highway through Irael, Izhma (when driving from Syktyvkar), or through Ust-Usa, Zelenoborsk, Irael, Izhma (when driving from Usinsk).

The main festival of the district is Lud

It takes place on the last Sunday of June or the first Sunday of July on the eve of the start of the hay season. In addition to performances by folklore groups, this holiday is also interesting for unusual horse races, when the distance ring is laid through flood meadows and ravine rugged terrain. These races are a tradition that has been preserved since ancient time .

Hunter's festival

The Hunter's Festival is traditionally held in the village of Lasta, Izhma district. Historical place - the right bank of the Sebys river. For several years, the festival has been an integral part of the Izvasa vermasomyas Republican Sports Festival.

“The festival was established in Lasta on the initiative of the movement in memory of the first hunting artel that appeared in the municipality in the 30s of the last century. Since then, the Lastinskaya artel has been considered one of the most "productive". The idea was supported by the district administration and the Komi Ministry of National Policy.” - says Fyodor Terentiev, an activist of the ISM “Izvatas”.

During the event, hunters dress up in traditional luzan and demonstrate trophies. Spectators and juries evaluate the participants' costumes and equipment, their dexterity and courage during lyamp competitions, snowmobile races, archery and much more.

Rural houses of culture from all over the region will present their farmsteads, focusing on the theme of hunting. Guests of the event can try perch fish soup and porridge. At the entertainment area sell pastries, tea, and various hunting equipment.
